Figures from the Crucifixion, No.13, Stabat Mater. From the 13th Century Latin hymn “Stabat Mater”, a meditation on Mary who weeps as she stands at the Cross on which her son is dying: “Stabat Mater dolorosa, Juxta Crucem lacrimosa, Dum pendebat Filius.”
