The historic Bank of Lucas, Turner & Co. building at 800 Montgomery Street on the corner of Jackson Street in San Francisco, California, once housed the gallery where Dorr Bothwell’s Siamese Prince was first shown (1939). The building was sometimes called Sherman’s Bank because it was built under the supervision of William Tecumpsah Sherman (1853-1854), later to distinguish himself himself as a General during the Civil War.
